and her mother
I’m very sad to hear that for the first time since it’s creation in 1990, the Pacific Music Festival will not take place this summer.
I feel so grateful to have been able to participate last year, I carry many good memories from Sapporo, its inhabitants who have been so welcoming (special thank you to Akiko Hiramatsu who has been wonderfully generous), the wonderful young colleagues and the great artists and conductors from whom I learned a lot.
All the people I know are suffering in one way or another right now from this exceptional situation and I wish them to find some comfort or some meaning not only in music but in art in general.
It is very though for us musicians not only because we are now in difficult financial situations but also because we are far away from the concert halls and from the people with whom we share our passion. I hope we will meet soon again! But until then, keep yourself safe and healthy!
