Pacific Music Festival Sapporo
PMF Volunteer Concerts aim to bring music to people who find it difficult to attend a concert hall. Seeing PMF faculty and Academy members come together with listeners in hospitals and special needs schools shows us something of the power of music, and of its place in society.
The Ainu are the indigenous people of northern Japan, especially Hokkaido.
In the Ainu language, "mina" means "to smile," and so "mina mina" means "to smile a lot"☺
Also, in Japanese, "mina" means "everyone!"
