After taking the world stage, a triumphant return to PMF

PMF Orchestra [Program A]

Once a member of the PMF Academy, Germany-based conductor Elias Grandy has gone on to flourish on the world stage, and in April 2025 he will take on the role of Chief Conductor of the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra. But first, in 2024 he makes his triumphant return to PMF!

Grandy marks his return with a captivating lineup of masterworks, balancing delicate timbres with powerful grandiosity, each written early in their respective composers’ oeuvres. He will lead the PMF Orchestra in Strauss’ Don Juan, Debussy’s Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune, and Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite, and the virtuosic mastery of soloist Clara-Jumi Kang will be on full display in Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No. 1!
