After a 2-year hiatus, the Pacific Music Festival in Sapporo (PMF) will once again hold auditions for the Orchestra Academy, a program representing the core of the festival, fostering the young musicians of the world in accordance with the vision of Leonard Bernstein, giant of the classical music world and founder of PMF.

PMF 2022 will feature Principal Conductor Lahav Shani (Music Director of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra / Chief Conductor of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra) and Ken-David Masur (Music Director of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra) leading the PMF Orchestra, comprised of young musicians from around the world selected through auditions, whose passionate performances never fail to inspire.
<Schedule Highlights>

Faculty will include internationally renowned soloists and principal players from the Wiener Philharmoniker, Berliner Philharmoniker, Philadelphia Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, and other major orchestras of the United States.

About auditions

All auditions will take place through online video submissions on the audition site "Acceptd." Applicants must have/make their own Acceptd account, fill in all required forms, and upload video(s) of the required materials. (We will not hold live auditions, nor receive materials by postal mail.)
*Please note that the Vocal Academy will not be held at PMF 2022.

 18-29 years old as of July 1, 2022
