About the PMF 2019 Outline
The 30th anniversary Pacific Music Festival will present nearly 40 concerts across 28 days, from July 6 (Sat) to August 2 (Fri), held primarily in Sapporo but also in greater Hokkaido, Tokyo, and Kawasaki. The program features two massive PMF premieres: Shostakovich's Symphony No. 4, led by Artistic Director Valery Gergiev, and Mahler's Symphony No. 8, led by former Artistic Director Christoph Eschenbach! Also, Maestra Marin Alsop, Principal Conductor and Bernstein's beloved pupil, will make her first long-anticipated return to PMF after appearing at the first PMF in 1990! With a special concert at the new Sapporo Cultural Arts Theater Hitaru and many more special anniversary events, PMF 2019 promises to be unforgettable!
Watch for more details as the season progresses!
