Takashi Nagamine is an alumnus of the Tokyo University of the Arts. He is a former principal player of the NHK Symphony Orchestra, from whom he received the Arima Award in recognition of his achievements. Since retiring from the orchestra, he has actively performed in ensembles with members of the NHK Symphony Orchestra, in recitals, and as a soloist. In addition, he has been invited as guest concertmaster to orchestras including the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, and Yamagata Symphony Orchestra, garnering trust and high praise. As a conductor, Nagamine has recently led greatly acclaimed performances with the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, Ensemble Kobe, an orchestra consisting of members of the NHK Symphony Orchestra, and more. As an educator, he serves as a professor at the Kunitachi College of Music, a guest professor at the Senzoku Gakuen College of Music, and a part-time lecturer at the Tokyo University of the Arts. Many of his students have gone on to successfully pass auditions for orchestras around the world, including the Münchner Philharmoniker, Frankfurt Radio Symphony, NHK Symphony Orchestra, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, and more. Nagamine plays the 1723 “Joachim” Stradivarius, on loan from the Kunitachi College of Music.
