PMF is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Alexander Bernstein, son of PMF founder Leonard Bernstein, on July 22. Alexander shared in his father's dedication to music education and provided unwavering support and encouragement to PMF throughout the years. In 2004, when the outdoor stage at the Sapporo Art Park was renovated and renamed the "Leonard Bernstein Memorial Stage," Alexander traveled to Sapporo, representing the Bernstein family at the unveiling ceremony and memorial concert. He watched over the PMF community with warmth and genuine affection, for which we are forever grateful. May he rest in peace.
