PMF is deeply saddened to learn that former mayor of Sapporo Mr. Nobuo Katsura, who from 1991 served variously as President of the PMF Organizing Committee, Chairman of the PMF Board of Directors, and PMF Special Councilor, passed away on November 16 at the age of 90. His guidance was invaluable to PMF, especially during its formative years, and his many contributions include the expansion of the festival through the creation of Sapporo Concert Hall Kitara. We will remain ever grateful to him.
