The international educational Pacific Music Festival in Sapporo (PMF) was founded by 20th century giant of the classical music world Leonard Bernstein, with the aim of fostering the young musicians of the world. Auditions to determine the members of the 2023 PMF Orchestra Academy – a program representing the core of the festival – have now begun.

The members of the PMF Orchestra, selected from across the globe, will be led by a faculty including internationally renowned soloists and principal players from the Wiener Philharmoniker, Berliner Philharmoniker, Philadelphia Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, and other major orchestras of the United States. Their passionate performances are sure to inspire.

About auditions

All auditions will take place through online video submissions on the audition site "Acceptd." Applicants must have/make their own Acceptd account, fill in all required forms, and upload video(s) of the required materials. (We will not hold live auditions, nor receive materials by postal mail.)
*Please note that there will be no harp Academy at PMF 2023.
