The PMF 2020 main orchestra program and schedule have been announced!
Forty concerts are scheduled during the 25 days from July 10 to August 3, primarily in Sapporo, and all in Hokkaido. The 31st PMF promises to be unforgettable!

 < Highlights >
Artistic Director Valery Gergiev will lead a PMF×Mariinsky production of Mozart's enduring masterpiece Don Giovanni at Sapporo Cultural Arts Theater hitaru. This is the first full-production opera in PMF's history!
■Also led by Gergiev, the PMF GALA Concert - the final 2020 concert at Sapporo Concert Hall Kitara - will culminate in the Program C Orchestra Concert, featuring Beethoven's Symphony No. 4 & Piano Concerto No. 4, with soloist Mao Fujita, in celebration of the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth!
Principal Conductor Marek Janowski presents Program B, comprised of Germanic masterworks including Strauss' Tod und Verklärung and Brahms' Symphony No. 2!
■Guest Conductor Alexander Vedernikov returns to PMF to conduct Program A, centering on the dramatic depth of Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2!
■Kicking off the rare 4-day July holiday, the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra presents the PMF Host City Orchestra Concert!
■Opening Concert will be led by PMF 2017 Conducting Academy alumni Dawid Runtz, who returns to conduct Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 and more!
