The deadline for PMF 2016 Academy auditions, all of which are taking place via our online portal site, has passed.

Orchestra Academy

The total number of applicants for this year's Orchestra Academy is 947, which is an increase of 34 people compared to last year. The overall competitive ratio is 1/11, which is slightly lower than last year's ratio of 1/12 due to an increase in the total number of participants.

Looking at individual instruments, flute, trombone, and tuba are especially competitive this year, each with a competitive ratio over 1/20.

And looking at nationalities, the largest number of applications is from the United States, followed by Japan, and applicants from Asia, Middle Eastern and Europe countries have increased compared with last year. We also have applicants from South Africa.

Conducting Academy

The total number of applicants is 73 from 23 countries and regions. Looking at nationalities, the largest number of applications is from the United States, followed by Japan. An increased number of applicants raised the competitive ratio to 1/24, compared with last year's ratio of 1/16.

Vocal Academy

The total number of applicants is 45 from 15 countries and regions. Looking at nationalities, the largest number of applications is from Japan, followed by the United States. The competitive ratio is 1/11, which is even higher than last year's ration of 1/10.
