Shuhei Yasuda graduated from the Department of Music of the Faculty of Arts and Culture at the Hokkaido University of Education Sapporo Campus in 2000. He was a member of the PMF Orchestra in 1999 and 2000 before going on to spend 2 years in Vienna studying under Herbert Mayr, the solo double bassist of the Wiener Philharmoniker. He has been a member of the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra since 2007. His double bass mentors also include Mitsuo Fujisawa. Yasuda is a part-time lecturer at the Tokai University Department of Arts. He was a PMF Junior Fellow in 1999, a member of the PMF Academy in 2000 and of the PMF Premium Orchestra in 2019, then served as principal with the PMF Orchestra JAPAN in 2021. This year he returns to serve as a PMF Section Leader.
