Yuya Mizuno won various awards in the Cello Division of the 89th Music Competition of Japan, including 1st place, the Iwatani Award (Audience Award), the Kuroyanagi Award, the Tokunaga Award, and the Masuzawa Award for the most impressive performance amongst all the divisions. He also won 1st place and the Audience Award in the String Division of the 13th Tokyo Music Competition and 1st place in the String Division of the 23rd Concert Marronnier 21. He is a recipient of scholarships from the Ezoe Memorial Recruit Foundation and the Rohm Music Foundation. He completed the Soloist Diploma Course at the Faculty of Music in the Toho Gakuen University on a scholarship. Mizuno currently devotes himself to his studies under Miklos Perenyi at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Hungary. He is a member of the Japan National Orchestra and a Chanel Pygmalion Days 2020/2021 participating artist. He was a member of the PMF Orchestra in 2017, then served as principal with the PMF Orchestra JAPAN in 2021. This year he returns to serve as a PMF Section Leader.
