Rie Park graduated from the Kyoto Municipal Kyoto Horikawa Senior High School of Music and the Faculty of Music of the Kyoto City University of Arts. Prizewinner at the national convention of the Japan Classical Music Competition, Park also received the Music Award at the Heiligenberg International Music Festival. After graduating from the Hanover College of Music, she graduated from the Berlin University of the Arts with a master’s degree in violin. She studied at the NDR Radiophilharmonie, then at the Komische Oper Berlin as a member of the Academy, where she performed in the “Magic Flute” tours in Paris and Moscow. She graduated from the Department of Viola at the Hanover College of Music. She has participated in various festivals for ensembles and orchestras around the world. She is based in Kyoto and presides over the Special Chamber Concert series with the support of organizations including NPO “Yellow Angel” and the Rotary Club of Kyoto Naka. Park is one of the first registered artists of Kyoto Concert Hall. She is the violist of both the Kyoto String Quartet and DUO GRANDE. (http://pakurie.com/)
She was a member of the PMF Academy in 2012 and 2013. This year she returns to serve as a PMF Section Leader.
