Hisae Kori graduated from the Hokusei Gakuen Girls' Junior and Senior High School Music Department before going on to study at the Kunitachi College of Music and the Toho Gakuen Graduate School. She graduated with highest distinction from both the École Normale de Musique de Paris and Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Rueil-Malmaison. In 1994, she passed the Japan Federation of Musicians audition. In 1998, Kori won various awards including second prize in the Japan Wind and Percussion Competition’s Clarinet Division, and top-level awards in the UFAM Competition in Paris in both the Clarinet Division and Chamber Music Division. In 1999 she was the finalist in the 10th Japan Woodwind Competition’s Clarinet Division. Kori was a member of the PMF Academy 3 years in a row from 1998. In addition to performing in various genres, she is also well-known as an instructor, holding seminars all across Japan. She currently teaches at the Senzoku Gakuen College of Music, Senzoku Gakuen Cross Arts, and Dolce Tokyo Academy. She is also a registered instructor with Buffet Crampon Japan. Kori is a member of the Hana-Emi Wind Quintet.
