Born in Blackburn, UK in 1999, William Fielding is a former chorister at the local cathedral. He spent three years at St. Mary's Music School in Edinburgh, then two years studying organ and piano at the Royal College of Music. In 2020, he moved to Toulouse, France to study with Michel Bouvard and Yoann Tardivel, and studied improvisation with Philippe Lefèvre. On receiving the "mention très bien à l'unanimité du jury et les félicitations” for his final recital in Toulouse, Fielding continued his studies with Olivier Latry and Thomas Ospital at the conservatoire supérieur in Paris.

Fielding was the organist at the Chapel Royal of the King of England, Hampton Court Palace and performs regularly with the Maîtrise de Toulouse. From 2021, he has been the organist of the choir organ at St. Sernin, where he has the chance to play on the great Cavaillé-Coll organ. Alongside his studies, Fielding has performed internationally, in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Czech Republic, Poland, Spain, and Switzerland. Fielding has closely collaborated with Mark Opstad and the Maîtrise of the Toulouse conservatoire, with whom he has recorded a CD including Maurice Duruflé's Requiem.

Fielding was appointed as the 24th Resident Organist of Sapporo Concert Hall from September 2023.
