Arisa Iida graduated from the Department of Musicology of the Tokyo University of the Arts, completing her master’s degree at the graduate school of the same university. She also received a master’s degree in Translation and Interpreting Studies from Macquarie University in Sydney. Iida is engaged in a wide range of activities aimed at popularizing classical music as a “classical music facilitator.” She started her career in 2008 as an English translator for classical music writers and music-related media. She not only writes and translates for music magazines, books, scores, CDs, concert brochures, and web magazines, but also is actively engaged as a speaker/MC for music events, a facilitator for educational events and workshops, a seminar lecturer, and an advisor. Iida has appeared on “La La La♪ Classic” on NHK-TV and “Your Unknown Composers” on NHK-FM, as well as many other programs. For over 4 years from 2016 she was a regular presenter for the classical music internet radio program OTTAVA. She gives performances on both piano and toy piano. Iida has published multiple books including “11 Reasons Why You Should Continue Playing the Piano” (Yamaha Music Media), “25 Mysteries of Burgmüller ~ Why So Beloved?” (co-author, ONGAKU NO TOMO SHA CORP.), and “Welcome to the World of Toy Piano ~ an Introductory Guidebook to Toy Pianos around the World” (Kawai Publishing). She is the director of the Yasuko Fukuda Scholarship Foundation.
