Born in Milan, Italy in 2001, Luca Akaeda Santesson began his musical journey in the organ class of Jean-François Hatton at a young age at the Conservatoire Claude Debussy, Paris. 
 
He pursued his study at the Conservatoire de Lyon under Lionel Avot and Yves Lafargue and then at the Conservatoire National Supérieur Musique et Danse de Lyon with François Espinasse and Liesbeth Schlumberger for his Bachelor and Masters degrees. During the academic year 2022/23, Santesson participated in an exchange study program and studied with both Pieter van Dijk and Wolfgang Zerer at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg. In 2024, he enrolled at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg for his Konzertexamen degree. 
 
Alongside his studies, Akaeda Santesson gives concerts internationally in prestigious venues, playing in France, Belgium, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Portugal, Norway, and Japan. 

Akaeda Santesson has won numerous international distinctions, such as the Grand Prize and the Public Prize at the Grand Prix d’Orgue Jean Louis Florentz 2022, as well as the Second Prize and Best Interpretation of Messiaen works Prize at the second edition of the International Olivier Messiaen Competition. In 2023, he was appointed ECHO (European Cities of Historical Organs) Young Organist of 2024 after winning the fifteenth edition of the International Schnitger Organ Competition in Alkmaar. 

In parallel, Akaeda Santesson leans his curiosity towards newer and more creative projects, the latest being his transcriptions of video game music and electronic music for the pipe organ. In September 2025, he became the 26th resident organist at Sapporo Concert Hall Kitara.
