Born in France, Fanny Cousseau studied piano under Carine Zarifian and accompaniment under Claude Collet at the Conservatoire Maurice Ravel du 13ème arrondissement of Paris, and studied organ at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris, earning a Diplôme d’Études Musicales (DEM) from each institution. At the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, she studied piano under Christophe Bukudjian and organ under Eric Lebrun, graduating with top honors in 2017. She went on to study at the Lyon Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et Danse under Francois Espinasse and Liesbeth Schlumberger. In 2019, she won 4th place at the Olivier Messiaen International Organ Competition and received the prize for the best interpretation of Messiaen’s works. Seeking new insights, she participated in the Erasmus Programme for exchange students and studied organ under Jeremy Joseph at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in Austria. She received a master’s degree in organ in 2022 and a master’s degree in pedagogy in 2024 from the Lyon Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et Danse.

She has given concerts at various venues, including at the Opéra National de Lyon, the Chartres Cathedral and the Consulat de France à Tlemcen, Algeria, and has collaborated with choruses and orchestras in France. She is dedicated to education, teaching organ at the Conservatoire Maurice Ravel de Levallois-Perret and piano at the Franco-Hungarian Music School in Lyon. She regularly organizes cultural exchange workshops to popularize the organ.

Currently, Cousseau serves as the organist at the Temple de Port Royal in Paris and has been the artistic director of Les Musicales de Port Royal since 2018. In September 2024, she became the 25th resident organist at Sapporo Concert Hall Kitara.
