In September 2018, Ryoma Takagi won the 1st prize and audience prize at the 16th Grieg International Piano Competition.

At the last season he has played recital at major concert halls such as the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the NDR Sendesaal in Hannover, the Robert Schumann Hall in Düsseldorf, the Vienna Musikverein and will play also with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra (Conducted by Eivind Gullberg Jensen), the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra (Conducted by Hans Graf), the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra (Conducted by Kenichiro Kobayashi).

He has performed at important venues at the Musikverein Golden Hall, the Grieg Hall, the Grieg Museum, the Moscow Conservatory Great Hall, the Kremlin Palace, the Ukraine Symphony Hall, the Ukraine National Opera Theater, the New York Steinway Hall, the Rome Teatro Valle, the Rome Teatro Quirino, the Gasteig, the Coburg Palace in Vienna, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Schönbrunn Palace, the Suntory Hall, the Yokohama Minatomirai Hall, the Muza Kawasaki Symphony Hall, the Karuizawa Ohga Hall, the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre, the Kioi Hall, etc.

He has also performed with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the Kiev National Philharmony, Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra, the Chiba Symphony Orchestra, the Gunma Symphony Orchestra, the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Andrea Battistoni, Murad Annamamedov, Stefan Vlader, Nicola Samale, Edward Gardner, Norichika Iimori, Shigeo Genda, Syo Ito, Nobuaki Nakata, Maiku Shibata.

He appeared also on many Japanese major TV and radio show such as “Forest of Piano”, “Untitled Concert”, “LaLaLa Classic”, “Best of Classic”, and “Recital Nova”.

This year Takagi makes his long-awaited first appearance at PMF.
