Haruka Mutaguchi began playing cello at age 5. After graduating from the Music High School of the Tokyo University of the Arts, she enrolled in said university as a Munetsugu Tokuji Special Scholarship recipient. After graduation, she moved to Germany and earned a master’s degree at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg. She has attended various festivals such as the Pacific Music Festival and the Verbier Festival in Switzerland. She studied with Hakuro Mohri, Kenji Nakagi, and Jean-Guihen Queyras. After serving as an Academist with the SWR Sinfonieorchester and as a contract member of the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, she is currently a member of the Dresdner Philharmonie. Mutaguchi was a member of the PMF Academy in 2021 and 2022. This year marks her professional debut at PMF.
