Message (as an Academy member) to PMF supporters

What are you looking forward to about PMF?

Meeting great musicians from around the world, performing with them in a wide range of music from orchestral to chamber music, and spending a summer in beautiful Sapporo.

Please type a short message to music fans and those who support PMF in Sapporo and throughout Japan.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the tremendous support you provide in order make PMF a reality. I'm excited even now as I think about participating in this festival, where such wonderful musicians come together.

【After PMF 2023】What are some impressions of your time in Sapporo?

It was my second time visiting Sapporo since I was still small, and I wished to return to this beautiful place again for a long time. The people there were extremely kind and friendly, the surrounding areas are full of green, the city is very convenient, and you can’t pick wrong with food options as the food there is simply the best!

【After PMF 2023】What did you take away from your time at PMF?

I’m so grateful that I got to learn many important orchestral works, especially in a place like PMF, where we could take good time to deepen the learning process. Playing alongside the faculties, who are active orchestra musicians, and getting coached through interaction was the perfect way to train myself. And thanks to PMF, I got to know so many young musicians our age from various backgrounds, and I can’t wait to see them again somewhere someday.

【After PMF 2023】What advice would you give to people thinking of auditioning for PMF?

I’d like to emphasize that you’d regret nothing if you came to PMF, and I want to push their back for those considering applying for PMF. I was never in the orchestra academy before, so I was nervous before coming. It all turned out that it was unnecessary. You would have a perfect place to spend a beautiful summer in the best place (Sapporo is the best to stay away from the heat!), with stimulating musical experiences, fantastic food, and nothing you can expect more. Please go for it, and it will be something to remember!
