Message (as an Academy member) to PMF supporters

What are you looking forward to about PMF?

I’m looking forward to connecting with talented musicians my age who share my passion for music, performing together, and sharing our chamber and orchestral music with others. I'm also looking forward to returning to Japan for the first time since I moved to Canada (when I was ten years old) and re-connecting with my roots.

Please type a short message to music fans and those who support PMF in Sapporo and throughout Japan.

Thank you for supporting PMF! It's so wonderful to perform in Japan. I'm excited to play with so many talented musicians and share our music with you!

【After PMF 2023】What are some impressions of your time in Sapporo?

Sapporo was great! I loved walking through Nakajima Park every morning to get to rehearsals - it was so nice to be surrounded by such beautiful nature. I liked the peacefulness of the city during the day and the liveliness of the city at night. The people were very welcoming, and the food was delicious! I really enjoyed my time in Sapporo and I hope I can go back soon to explore the city and the surrounding area more.

【After PMF 2023】What did you take away from your time at PMF?

PMF was such a magical experience! I still can't believe I got to be a part of such an incredible orchestra. Performing with musicians who became my friends and sharing our music with such warm audiences, I really felt the joy of playing together and was reminded of the unique ability of music to bring people of different cultural backgrounds together.

【After PMF 2023】What advice would you give to people thinking of auditioning for PMF?

Go for it! I had an incredible time at PMF, making music with wonderful musicians from around the world and learning from faculty composed of members of some of the world's top orchestras. It was so inspiring to work with and learn from everyone, and to do it in such a supportive environment was truly special. I highly recommend it!
