Message (as an Academy member) to PMF supporters

PMF
What are you looking forward to about PMF?
Saori Iuchi
I’m looking forward to meeting talented musicians of about the same age from all over the world, and making music together with them!

Please type a short message to music fans and those who support PMF in Sapporo and throughout Japan.
Saori Iuchi
Thank you so much everyone for supporting PMF. It was my big goal to participate in PMF at my hometown Hokkaido. I'm so happy to play in the concerts I admired since my childhood. Hope to see you all at the concerts!
PMF
Which are some things you like about Hokkaido? And what are your memories of PMF?
Saori Iuchi
I love my hometown Ebetsu, which is a place full of nature. Especially at the Nopporo Forest Park, I enjoyed cycling, cross-country skiing, watching rabbits, flying squirrels, and owls...there are lots of sweet childhood memories. Even now, I still love going out in nature during a vacation. And I used to go PMF concerts often since my childhood. The concert at the lawn was especially memorable. Unlike the concert hall, I enjoyed the performace like a festival.

What inspired you to start playing an instrument?
Saori Iuchi
I started playing piano since I was 3, and violin since 4. My parents took me to look around the lessons. A teacher who gave me a violin lesson to prepare for entrance exam in Germany was a violist. I admired the teacher's viola tone, and longed for playing viola someday. In 2022, Mr. Tokuji Munetsugu gave me an opportunity to lend the instrument, thereafter I started playing viola.
PMF
What are your goals for PMF 2024?
Saori Iuchi
In PMF, I want to treasure the time meeting artists from around the world. It is a very valuable opportunity to meet artists and faculties with different cultures and ideas. I want to communicate with them proactively, and learn new approach to music from various conversations. Also, I hope I can express the excitement of my hometown Hokkaido, such as nature and food. If I have a chance, I want to go enjoy beautiful nature, and delicious sushi and soft cream together with Academy members!
