John Axelrod:

the path to becoming a conductor

Every year, Educational Seminars showcase some of PMF's unique characteristics through music-related lectures presented by PMF faculty and participating artists.

This year's Seminar will feature the widely sought-after American conductor John Axelrod, Principal Conductor of PMF 2016. Known for his charisma, innovative programming, and wide range of repertoire, from Classical to contemporary, he will address his own musical education and his path to becoming a professional conductor, including the experience of learning from Bernstein while still in his teens.
