PMF will hold its 25th anniversary music festival this year, a quarter century since its first implementation in 1990. PMF Academy members to this point - cumulatively over 3000, from 70 countries and regions - are now active all over the world as members of renowned orchestras, as chamber musicians, and as soloists. The content presented in this 25th implementation of PMF will be rich and highly varied, as is only appropriate in such a memorial year.

A statue of PMF-founder Leonard Bernstein is being produced, honoring his achievements. It will be placed in Nakajima Park, near the PMF-affiliated Sapporo Concert Hall Kitara. The unveiling ceremony is planned for Saturday, July 12.
Marking PMF's 25th anniversary, a logo has been designed. Combining founder Leonard Bernstein in profile, gently smiling as he conducts - an image taken from the first PMF - with the number 25, its design communicates something of the joy of music. This PMF official logo, in blue and elegant gold, commemorates this quarter-century anniversary season.
A work by R. Strauss, for whom 2014 represents the 150th anniversary of his birth. Enjoy this simultaneously tragic and comic story with surprising twists!
A look back on Bernstein's life, with large-screen imagery, featuring content with connections to him: pieces that he composed, symphonic music from Mahler (whose music Bernstein specialized in), and much more.
The only piece conducted by Bernstein at the 1st PMF will be performed once again, a quarter century on, by Guest Conductor Domingo Hindoyan and the PMF Orchestra.
