Pacific Music Festival 2012
VOCAL ACADEMY
The twenty-third Pacific Music Festival (PMF) will be presented in Sapporo, Japan from Saturday, July 7 to Saturday, August 4, 2012. Applications are now being accepted for the PMF Orchestra, Conducting Academy, and Vocal Academy. There is no application fee for the audition. The festival will cover tuition, travel to/from Sapporo, shared-room accommodations, and meals during the program period for the successful applicants..
GENERAL INFORMATION
The PMF Vocal Academy aims to provide young singers an opportunity for practical training under the guidance of the PMF Faculty members for the PMF Vocal Academy Marlis Petersen (soprano) and Roberto Sèrvile (baritone) and the festival’s Artistic Director Fabio Luisi, during the period between July 9 and July 22, 2012. The program includes opera expression, diction, and master classes. Members will also have an opportunity to perform with the PMF Orchestra and Conducting Academy in an orchestra concert held during the program period (please refer to Program B in the Orchestra Academy Information).
ELIGIBILITY
Singers between the ages of 20 and 35 as of July 1, 2012, are eligible to participate.

REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must complete the online application and send the following items together with a copy of the completed application form:
| a) | DVD audio-visual recording of the applicant performing the following repertoire. The recording should be recorded within the past six months. Please make sure it is clearly labelled with the applicant's name.
<REPERTOIRE> ① One Aria from any opera by Mozart in the original language ② One Aria from any opera by Verdi, Puccini, Rossini, Donizetti, Bellini, Mascagni or Leoncavallo in the original language |
| b) | Biography of the applicant, including the details of training, awards and diplomas, as well as information on musical experience and activities. |
The recording audition materials must be sent to the PMF Organizing Committee by registered mail and postmarked no later than February 29, 2012. All submitted recordings are NOT returnable.
RESULTS
Successful applicants will be announced on the PMF web site in late March 2012. All applicants will receive notification of the audition results by e-mail or post.
